Dr. Harry L. Morgan Executive Director
Harry was born in 1947 and was born again in 1970 during the Asbury Revival in Wilmore, Kentucky. Though he grew up in the church, was religious, even stayed in a monastery for two months and served in church leadership since the age of 14, he was not a Christian until the age of 22 through his studies in the book of Romans.
Harry received a B.A. in Philosophy & Religion from Asbury College; a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) from Asbury Theological Seminary (Th.M.) from Princeton Theological Seminary, an Masters of Arts (M.A.) in mental health counseling from Argosy University, and a Ph.D. from Bethany Theological Seminary (summa cum laude). His doctoral dissertation is entitled Biblical Perspectives of Intrafamilial Child Sexual Abuse. He did postgraduate studies in archeology with LaGrange College in
Nazareth, Israel; in psychology at Oberlin College; in ecumenism at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and a quarter of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at the University of Kentucky. He also graduated from the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College and the Air War College.
He has served as a pastor from 1967 to 2003 and as a chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970 to 1999. His final tour of duty was as the (IMA) III CORPS chaplain responsible for the mobilization of all National Guard and Reserve Chaplains and Chaplain Assistants West of the Mississippi.
He has lectured or served on the faculties of Temple (Philadelphia, PA) and Rutgers (Camden, NJ) Law Schools; Foundations Bible College (Gull Lake, Michigan); MED (Krakow, Poland); Solid Rock Theological Seminary (Guyana). He has also served as faculty advisor and coordinator of the counseling department, as well as adjunct professor at Webster University / Sarasota Campus.
Harry is presently the executive director of the Biblical Counseling Center in Bradenton, FL and the Director of Counseling Services with IMI/SOS International.
Harry has been married to Bonny 35 Years and has three grown daughters, Kara, Rebekah and Rachel, and four grandchildren , Ethan, Katherine, Lucas and Jude.

Dr. Marvin K. Hendon, PHD Clinical Director
Marvin was born in 1958. Although growing up in a Christian home, he did not personally appropriate the Christian faith until his teen-age years.
A marginal student, Marvin found that once he gave his life to Christ, his motivation increased, and he went to the University of Florida, where he received the B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. His doctorate is in counseling psychology.
Marvin is a licensed psychologist presently in private practice, and in addition serves as the principal of the Westcoast School for Human Development in Sarasota. He serves with the Christian Resource Center as our clinical psychologist. He is affiliated with Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Doctors Hospital, and Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital. He has taught at the University of Florida, Manatee Community College, Keiser College, and Webster University. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and serves on numerous professional boards. He has published numerous monthly columns, has appeared on several television shows, and is a frequent workshop presenter.
Marvin has been married to Deborah for 14 years, and they have two children, Marvin II and Diesi.

Lauren Hendrich, MA LMHC Intern
Lauren Herdrich has been working in the mental health field as a counselor for 15 years. Originally a native of New York, Lauren has been living in Florida for the past four years as a mental health counselor. In addition to conducting general counseling and treating depression and anxiety, Lauren’s specific areas of interest and expertise are children and adolescents, eating disorders, abusive survivor issues, and relationship issues.
Lauren has been a Christian for 20 years and enjoys helping clients incorporate their faith in the healing process. Lauren lives in Bradenton with her husband and three children.
In addition to Lauren’s work at Biblical Counseling Center she has woorked at Charis Center Counseling as a Mental Health Counselor, Wellspring Counseling, Inc. as a Clinical Counselor, The Sprurwink School as a counselor and Gorham House as a Social Worker.

Marlene Campana, MBA, MA LMHC Intern
A graduate of Princeton University, Marlene also earned a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. Given her passion for strengthening marriages and families, she is the Co-founder and Co-Executive Director of Marriage Builders Family Resource Center in operation since 2004 as well as the Executive Director of a Time to Heal Coaching and Counseling.
She is bilingual and a P.A.I.R.S. (Practical Application of Intimate Relationship Skills) trained professional and Relationship Coach. A presenter at the Building Healthy and Lasting Relationships Marriage conference sponsored by the Commission on Marriage and Family Support Initiatives, she is available to speak at conferences, radio and television programs. She recently celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary. Her husband, Jim and two sons, Daniel and Jonathan have lived in Sarasota since 1982. Marlene is passionate about her faith and her calling to provide professional mental health care services.

Danielle Cobian, MA Mental Health Intern
Danielle Glaysher-Cobian grew up in Madrid, Spain. Her father was a music teacher in the DODDS school system for children of the US Armed Forces. She moved to Sarasota in 1985 to attend The Ringling College of Art and Design, and graduated with her BFA in 1989. After graduation, Danielle met and married her husband “Papo”, working along with him in the sculpture business at the Sarasota Art Foundry, which they owned and operated. They are parents to two beautiful and talented children now 14 and 11.
In 2000, her husband’s severe illness caused their foundry business to close. Danielle began to look for a deeper connection to “learn and help others”. A committed Christian, she answered the call to serve and began working in the community using her Spanish language and people skills to help others. Compelled to service, Danielle worked for local Agencies in Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties, these helping professions include: Healthy Families, Project HOPE, The Hispanic Latino Coalition, and Goodwill Industries of Manasota.
Her experiences in those agencies led her to pursue her Master of Arts in Counseling at Webster University and will be graduating in June of 2010, she is also a member of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. Danielle offers a dynamic combination of art and counseling, and the comfort of being a follower of Christ herself.
Emma Laura is an Addictions’ Professional who lives in East Manatee County. Both she and her husband, Philip, are Catholic Christians.
She has a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, and Education from Eastern Washington University, in Washington State, where she graduated with a four point average.
She also trained in Addictions in Nyack, New York, in a one year program, and was certified and licensed in Connecticut as an Addictions Profession. She was selected by her fellow students to deliver a graduation speech as a representative of the women in the Addiction School. Her BA was in Psychology.
Emma Laura was Director of Social Services, in two nursing homes, for nine years, in Connecticut, after staying at home to raise her three children. During her time at home, she volunteered in church work and, also, became a United States Soccer Federation Referee. While raising her children, she worked professionally for three years as a liaison for the local Mental Health Center in Washington State on the psychiatric unit of a general hospital.
While employed in Long Term Care, Emma Laura was Co-Chair and Secretary, Social Work Directors, Connecticut Association of Non-profit Facilities for the Aged (CANPFA) in Meridan, Connecticut for two years. She was a member of the Ethics Committee, Connecticut Hospital Association, Wallingford, Connecticut. She was also Chair of the Ethics Committee in one long term care facility.
She was the subject of an article in the Connecticut Post on ‘Women of Substance’ in the community, having been nominated by a patient. During these years, she was mentioned in Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who of Professional Managers, and Who’s Who in the Western United States.
Her experience in Addiction Counseling is extensive and covers all economic levels and she has developed an interesting curriculum for her clients. Beginning in Connecticut, she worked in Therapeutic Communities, a Day Incarceration Center, Silver Hill Hospital for Addictions and Co-occurring Disorders, In Florida, where she has lived a total of 10 years (four years in the late 60s) she has worked for Manatee Glens Hospital and First Step of Sarasota as an Independent Contractor. At these two institutions, she worked with clients referred to her by the Department of Corrections, private paying inpatient clients, clients with addiction and mental illness, and intensive outpatient clients. Her total experience in working with addictions is 11 years.
She was the Team Leader of a new First Step of Sarasota program for the homeless at the Salvation Army and provided the initial curriculum and took the program of day treatment addiction services there to licensure with the State of Florida, and to two perfect audits by the Department of Children and Families.
Emma Laura offers individual and group counseling to the addicted and/or their families, which will assist persons to understand addiction and to maintain abstinence and to experience the joy of living , drug and alcohol free. Spirituality, which includes freedom from the bondage of self, is considered the highest form of recovery from addiction and this goal is seen throughout her process of counseling.
